Advanced Studio: 6th- 9th grade artists

Through exploration of a range of artistic mediums, students expand their skills and begin to approach artmaking with greater independence and refinement. Building on their foundational knowledge, artists apply the elements of art and principles of design to complex ideas such as proportion and composition, while also experimenting with contrast and texture. With an emphasis on critical thinking, material exploration, and personal expression, students learn to articulate artistic concepts and participate in thoughtful critique with their peers. This class provides a studio environment where young artists strengthen technique while cultivating a distinctive artistic voice.
